This is a tough year for LHS fans to come out and cheer on the student athletes participating in fall sports. The reason being is that there is a very limited number of home events.
This fall, our football team only has four home games guaranteed, and the volley7ball has even less with three. Not to mention that our cross country team only has one home meet. Soccer, however, does have a plethora of home games, with seven.
The fact of the matter is, with fewer home events for our teams, it’s hard for the student section to have a high attendance night-in and night-out. So many road games are hard for students to get to with rising gas prices and little free time.
More home games need to be schedule so that our athletes, who work their tails off to play at the varsity level, get to play in front of all their friends and classmates, instead of just a select few.
With a limited number of home events this fall, we need to take it as it is and start car-pooling and attending more athletic events to show our school pride.
